Just a quick update on my father’s cancer treatment.  He has completed his 6 week, 5 days per week radiotherapy and I am pleased to report that my father never experienced any ulcerations or mouth infections for the whole period.

During his treatment, he received 3 half hour treatments of reiki and reflexology per week. Despite the fact that he did not use his prescribed mouth washes as often as he should have done, he still came through his treatments without experiencing any significant pain or discomfort.  We are all very pleased with his progress, including his doctors. However, he often feels very tired, but he does have good days, and on those good days he tends to exert himself too much which leaves him depleted of energy the day after. Slowly but surely, he should get stronger.

I am still continuing to give him treatments but now just once per week.  So I would definitely  recommend reiki and reflexology treatments to cancer sufferers whilst undergoing radiotherapy (subject to agreement from their surgeons/doctors) especially as often enough it is offered free of charge at local hospices (day patients).
